Are Energy Drinks Good Or Bad?

In the world we live in today it does not feel like there are enough hours in the day. Whether it is work, school, or taking care of the kids everyone needs a little pick-me-up every now and then. People look to coffee, Redbull, and even 5 hour energy shots, but are energy drinks good or bad?

The one good thing about most energy drinks is that they do serve their purpose. They will give you a boost of energy and keep you alert for a few hours after consuming them. However, there is usually a crash period directly after the drink wears off. So, if you are only using them for an occasional boost for important situations every now and then, they are probably not too bad for you.

The problems with most energy drinks come with extended use. If you have to start your day off with some sort of caffeine or sugar based energy drink just to be functional, then there can be long term consequences on your body. It gets even worse when you need to keep pumping these substances into your body every few hours just to keep going.

Over use of energy drinks can lead to higher blood pressure, increased heart rate, dehydration, and insomnia. It can also lead to other conditions such as increased anxiety and irritability

As you can see there are two different sides to the energy drinks you will find dominating the drink isle at your local convenience store.

What if I told you there was a way to get all the upsides of an energy drink, without any of the negative side effects? Recent studies of the Brazilian acai berry have found that drinking the pulp daily can lead to increased energy, endurance, and stamina as strong as, if not stronger, than coffee or Redbull .
